Bel Cantanti Opera 2023-2024 Season Auditions!

Bel Cantanti Opera Company is announcing auditions for its 2023 - 2024 season.

Singers are needed for the following productions:

G. Rossini's L'Italiana in Algeri (October 7,8,14,15, 2023)

S. Barab's Little Red Riding Hood (early November 2023, TBA)

G_C. Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors (December 2-30,2023)

G.Puccini Gianni Schicchi & S. Rachmaninoff's Aleko (February 10,11,17,18,2024)

Jacques Offenbach - Pioneed of French Operetta! Operetta-Gala. (March 16,17, 23, 2024)

V. Bellini's La Sonnambula (May 11, 12, 18, 19, 2024)

Auditions are held on Saturdays 11am-6pm, May 20 and June 3
and on Sundays 3:00-9:00pm, May 21 and June 4
Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD.
Pianist is provided free of charge.

To schedule an audition singers need to send via email to auditions@belcantanti.com:
1. a current resume
2. a recent headshot
3. mp3 recording or a link to the website or Youtube
4. an application (click to download)
5. a short bio
5. a costume measurements form (click to download)
6. the application fee of $35, paid online by a credit card. (click to make a payment).

The deadline for applications is 17 May 12:00pm. Audition fees are non-refundable after the deadline.

Audition requirements - two arias, one of those should be:
Aria in Italian,(Rossini, Bellini, Puccini)
Aria in Russian, if auditioning for Aleko.
Aria in German and English from operetta J. Strauss' Gala.
Aria in English if auditioning for Little Red Riding Hood.

Singers auditioning for the lead roles in the opera are required to sing an aria from the opera that they are auditioning for or an aria of very similar style.

Accepted singers will be informed about their audition slot via email. The time slots will be secured only if ALL required materials are submitted.

Bel Cantanti Opera Company auditions singers in the end of each season, in the spring. Please join our mailing list to receive an announcement about the season auditions.
