"The Maryland-based Bel Cantanti Opera Company began its ninth year with a winsome production of Rossini’s “Barber of Seville” — very well sung and often fun to look at... With talented local singers, the company’s highly creditable showing owes much to the ambition and drive of its founder, director, and conductor, Katerina Souvorova. ...The cast was vocally strong from top to bottom. …Sarah Davis as Rosina was outstanding, tossing off coloratura with clarity and ease... Costume and production design were remarkable, given the budget constraints… For a fraction of what you’d pay at the Kennedy Center, this modest “Barber” offers a musically satisfying and vocally opulent evening."
Robert Battey, The Washington Post, October 7, 2012.
